This is a translation for convenience: the Italian text (Termini d'uso) is the one that prevails.
These terms are the rules for using Hairpin. By creating an account or signing in with Google you accept them. How we process your data is explained in the Privacy policy.
1. Who we are
Hairpin is offered by Daniele Petrollo. To contact us: [email protected].
Hairpin is free and in a trial phase: features and rules may change.
2. The account
To use Hairpin you must be at least 14 years old. An account belongs to one person only: use real data, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone has signed in in your place.
You are responsible for what happens with your account.
3. While driving
Hairpin goes with you, it does not drive for you. You use it at your own risk, and while driving your attention, road signs and the Highway Code come before everything else.
- Do not touch the phone while you drive: set it up before you leave, fix it to a mount and stop in a safe place to change anything.
- Routes, bends, weather, locations and times may be wrong or out of date: a road may be closed, forbidden or dangerous even if the app suggests it.
- The bends and roads the app shows you are not an invitation to race: speed limits always apply.
- Deadlines and reminders help you, but insurance, roadworthiness test and road tax remain your obligation.
Events are organised by users, not by Hairpin. They are not races: whoever organises and whoever takes part is responsible for how they are run.
4. Your content
Rides, photos, comments and whatever you publish remain yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you chose, only to make Hairpin work; the permission ends when you delete them or delete the account, except as explained in the Privacy policy.
You are responsible for what you publish. Do not publish content that is illegal, offensive or belongs to others without their permission, and do not show other people's faces or number plates without them knowing.
5. In crews and events
Respect people: no insults, harassment, threats or spam, and no pressure to drive dangerously.
Admins and organisers manage their own crew and events; they do not act on our behalf.
If someone bothers you, you can block or report them: we read the reports and decide what to do.
6. Suspension and closure
If you breach these terms or the law we may hide content, suspend or close the account, without notice when needed. If we can, we tell you why.
You can leave whenever you want: from your Profile, «Elimina l'account» (delete the account).
7. No warranty
Hairpin is in a trial phase and we offer it as it is: it may have errors, stop working or change, and some data may be lost. Keep your own copy of important documents.
8. Liability
Within the limits of the law we are not liable for damage caused by using the app while driving, by wrong data, by interruptions of the service or by the behaviour of other users. Cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence and the rights the law grants to consumers remain unaffected.
9. Other services
Maps, weather and place search also come from third-party services, named in the app: their own terms apply to them too.
10. Changes
If we change these terms we update the version and the date above, and for important changes we tell you in the app. If you keep using Hairpin after a change, you accept it; if you do not agree you can delete the account.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. For disputes with a consumer, the competent court is that of the place where the consumer resides.
